E-mail Account Setup HowTo:

Outlook Express:

Open Outlook Express so that you see the application open on your computer screen.

At the top of the application window you will see "File Edit View Tools Messages Help", click on the "Tools" title.

This will display a drop down menu with different options, locate the option titled "Accounts" next to the end of the menu items and click the option.

A new screen for setting up a new account will display. There you will see some tabs at the top of the display, select the second tab titled "Mail".

On the right side of the same display window is a button titled "Add", click this button and then from the menu options select "Mail...".

NOTE: You will need to supply YOUR own account information provided to you by Dacoto Web Productions for filling in the required account fields.

"Display Name:" Your Name

"E-mail address:" johnsmith@yourdomainname.com

"Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:" mail.yourdomainname.com

"Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:" mail.yourdomainname.com

"Account Name:" this field can be anything you want to use as a general discription for the account i.e. Work Email, My Website Email etc.

"Password:" supplied by Dacoto Web Productions, it will display as usually black round dots instead of the actuall password in plain text.

Place a check mark in the checkbox directly below the "Password" field titled "Remember Password" only if you would like to have Outlook Express remember your password for you instead of typing it in each time you check your email.

A screen will display that you have successfully entered all required information. Click the "Finish" button at the bottom of the display screen.

Now you will be returned back to the previous display window which now lists your new email account. On the right side of the same display screen where you clicked the "Add" button in the previous step above now click on the "Properties" button.

At the bottom of that scree place a check in the checkbox titled "My Server Requires Authentication".

Your account is setup and you can click the "Send and Receive" button at the top of Outlook Express to check your email. Happy Internet Travels!
